K 2NR Collapse
Overview
When giving a K 2NR collapse, there are multiple things to cover to get your story across. The K is all about a narrative, and effectively getting your story to interact as the highest layer of the debate and clearly letting your judge understand this is key. The following are the key things to get through: an overview, extensions (usually prewritten), line by line, case debate.
The Overview
The overview should have clear judge instructions as to how your K should be evaluated, and what your story/thesis of the K is. This sets the tone for what you are about to give a collapse on. You need to give an effective overview for you to win the K - be sure to frame it as some sort of procedural or priority question.
Sample Overview:
The aff has already lost this debate - vote neg now on the K - its a procedural question that must come first because it determines whether or not the aff should even be considered or contested in the first place. [insert narrative of your K]. If there's any risk of the aff linking and the K being true its key to vote neg on alt solvency since the K comes first and the aff engages in abusive scholarship that must be punished.
Extensions
Be sure to write out extensions of the K - since the K is a story the extensions are more generic and extend the story for the judge to understand, and the more technical details will be covered on the line by line debate.
